The Quinjet lands at Disneyland Paris

Topics) : 30th Anniversary, Avengers Campus

On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in the evening, the next stage of the Avengers Initiative was initiated with the arrival of their famous ship, the Quinjet, at Disneyland Paris. One more step has been taken towards the opening of the new Avengers Campus, which will be held within the destination.

The Walt Disney Imagineering and Marvel teams have already successfully brought the Avengers Campus in California and the Stark Expo in Hong Kong Disneyland to life. We're thrilled to now be part of Tony Stark's vision to nurture more heroes for the future! It's only been a few hours since the Quinjet touched down at Disneyland Paris, but we couldn't be more excited about what's to come with the opening of Avengers Campus this summer!

Just like in Hong Kong and California, visitors to Disneyland Paris will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the Super Heroes through new immersive techniques, as the Avengers and their allies recruit new heroes to join their team. .

And with the Quinjet now sitting atop the Campus' central plaza, this heroic new zone has never been closer to becoming real.

As Scot Drake, Marvel Global Portfolio Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering, I wanted to share an exclusive preview of this major breakthrough, through a video we recorded during this epic landing:

Originally designed to serve as a cutting-edge form of air transport for the Super Hero Team, the Quinjet's design has seen various modifications in Marvel comics and the films that make up the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, for our version of Avengers Campus, we wanted to give it an ambitious and futuristic style. Walt Disney Imagineering therefore came up with this brand new design. However, in order to build a full-scale ship, we needed the help of engineers. We have therefore teamed up with the British company UK Loco, with which Walt Disney Imagineering Paris has collaborated for many years and maintains a relationship of trust. The latter had already brought unrivaled technical know-how to the creation of immersive experiences, such as Toy Story Playland, Crush's Coaster and Ratatouille: L'Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy.

When we met the UK Loco teams in their workshops in Evesham, England following numerous Zoom meetings and many exchanges with the transatlantic teams about the 3D model of the Quinjet, we were immediately convinced by the technical expertise of the team, their attention to detail, and above all, their ability to think differently and find innovative solutions. These qualities proved to be essential in serving our creative vision; that of a Quinjet which represents a source of inspiration at a time marked by the pandemic. Seeing the Quinjet come to life from initial brainstorming, sketches and digital models to building this iconic centerpiece is incredibly moving, and inspires us all to keep giving our best.

With this new Quinjet, we want to transport the Avengers into a new era, where we are invited to step in and take part in an even more intense experience alongside the Super Hero Team. I can't wait for our first recruits to come together at this awesome Avengers Campus, which will open later this year!
